What? - 2010 sees a new philosophy, rather than worry about big numbers at a few events, lets just have some fun doing lots of things for as many people as can make it!

And so comes about the North Wales Run, a number of times a year my newest family travel to North Wales to climb the many rock faces in and around Snowdonia National Park. The scenery is fantastic, and breath taking and I often think to myself, I'd love to drag a few KKITP people along with us to enjoy this amazing scenery! So late last year I figured, why not?

So the plan is to meet at one given point, then once there you will all be issued with a map featuring a suggested route to the surprise end location. THIS IS NOT A RACE NOR RALLY we can't afford the insurance for that! It's just a fantastic opportunity to take in some fantastic scenery and get some fantastic shots of our cars in their surroundings!

After all what's more fun than just going for a drive? well except maybe going for a drive through a mountain range!
 happy

Who? - Everyone's invited!

Where? - The first meeting point is off the A470, near Ganllwyd.
It's a picnic site called Ty'n y Groes
Click here for their website and here for a map.

The suggested route will take roughly 1hr 22mins, however there are short cuts if you really want to miss most of the breath taking scenery! Then we will all meet up at the end point for a group photo of the survivors! haha

When? - 1pm, Saturday, 20th March 2010.

Anyone wishing to stay the weekend, there is a campsite not far away that we regularly use. It's £4pp per night and is very basic, it's for climbers but has a lovely little cafe which is run by a very adventurous legend among climbers called Eric.

Er? Don't think so, I believe it's just a picnic site with toilet blocks etc. It is the start of two trails but I don't think there's a mountain bike centre there unless I missed it.

The car park is at the start of the Kings Guard and Mynydd Penrhos Trails. I like the idea of chasing the dragon though hehe

Excellent  happy

Just to make sure you're all aware, the camp site is aimed at climbers so there aren't a lot of facilities. I don't want you all to turn up and be annoyed with me  Undecided

There are toilets and a shower but that's pretty much it hehe. The cafe though serves a mean climbers breakfast in the morning, and he does lovely cups of coffee and tea.

Not trying to put anyone off, just don't want you to turn up and then beat me up because it's not like a normal camp site haha

(There are plenty others in the area though if you want to book with one, make a little mini holiday of it)  happy

If I've missed anyone off the list, do let me know!
